Welcome!

Welcome to the first ever blog post from the Second Hand Horse Rug Shop!

Our family horse rug laundry business has been washing, reproofing, repairing, altering and making bespoke items for over 20 years and we have a combined 90 years experience with competition horses and ponies across multiple disciplines.

We are situated in a converted Barn on the edge of the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands, and our premises incorporates an “actual real life” (yes we’re not just online) shop with a range of second hand tack, equine equipment and riding clothing as well of over 300 quality horse rugs in stock of course.

Our knowledge of what makes horse comfortable and what makes our lives easier as horse owners puts us in the perfect position to source, prepare and sell affordable second hand items that meet your needs.  We don’t just “sell” rugs to customers.  We care about their requirements, their tastes and most of all their horses.

So why would you want to follow my blog?

We will be updating you regularly covering everything from news about the business to handy tips and hints of how to care for your rugs.  There will be feature posts on key brands such as Premier Equine, Weatherbeeta, Horseware and many more, with unbiased reviews on their products to let you know what’s good and what’s not so good based on our years of experience with these brands.

We will be looking at what’s new in horsewear and even tack, with product reviews to hopefully provide all the info you need before making a purchase.  It will be an opportunity to touch on the hottest trends hitting the market and hopefully let you know which ones we believe will be around for the long haul.

We will even have event and competition reviews, especially when we can shout about the successes of our customers.  And if that’s not enough of a reason to check back on us regularly, we will be covering a range of topics that you’ve asked us about.

So feel free to get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!
